Senior Adults, Missions and Administration
I was born in Mississippi and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s in Sociology in 1981. I then moved to Ft. Worth and graduated from Southwestern Seminary in 1984 with a Master’s in Religious Education.
I met my wife Rhonda in Ft. Worth and have been married to her for 27 years. We have 2 daughters, Meagan and Ashley. Meagan is 22 years old and just graduated from Dallas Baptist University. Ashley is 20 years old and is a junior at Dallas Baptist University. Casey and Carly are our two golden retrievers.
Prior to coming to Central, I was a Minister of Education/Youth in Sanford, Florida, for 2 years. Following that, we moved to College Station, where I served Parkway Baptist Church for 8 years as Minister of Education/Youth.
In my spare time, I love to play tennis. My favorite place to get away from it all is New York City. I love the movie The Pink Panther, and my favorite dessert is lemon ice box pie.
My life verse from the Bible is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” The reason I chose this verse is that no matter what I do in life or what situations I face, I know that God ultimately is in charge and those are God’s plans for my life at that time.
My desire is to love God, my wife, and my daughters with all my heart. I also want to serve and honor God and others in a fresh way every day.
